Barabati prepares for hockey WC opening.
Barabati stadium is getting ready to host the opening ceremony of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup 2023.
The stadium complex is a hive of activities .People are busy giving finishings touches to the dais on the ground.A pandal has also been erected with a gigantic replica of Konark Temple well depicted on it.A team of artists from Delhi and Mumbai have been working for the last 20 days to prepare the stage for the inaugural ceremony.
The stage has been made to showcase Odisha along with Hockey.Two huge replica of Konark well make up the background,said Cuttack collector Bhabani Sankar Chayani.A gigantic stage has been erected in the middle of the ground where most of the cultural events will the place,he added.
Surinder Singh,an artist busy preparing the state, said they are giving finishing touches to the stage.The backdrop has been erected along with LED screens and various other features with lighting,Singh said.The spectators will have a new experience while attending the World Cup inaugural ceremony,he added.
This is going to be a mega event.Odisha will showcase another Era in the field of hockey,involving everybody across the state and country.Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sent representatives to different states to invite the CMs.Many have assured to visit the state during the World Cup,said Cuttack mayor Subhash Sing,adding the event will start at 3pm and end by 10pm.
The Cuttack Municipal Corporation(CMC) had engaged several artists to beautify the overrides,bridges and ring road embankment walls with colorful paintings.The work got over on Monday.
