Parents of school children worried about the rise of Covid infection.
With the new academic session just commencing,the rise in Covid infection in the state has left the parents worried.
Although health experts have said there's no need to panic,they have not ruled out the fast spread of the infection resulting in another wave.
With the state's Covid totally shooting beyond 100(104) in the past 24 hours on Friday, parents of schoolchildren apprehend that their wards may catch the virus at school and infect others back home.In this way, people with comorbidities at home are mostly likely to get the infection.The state's active caseload crossed 400(429).

Dr Ashutosh Biswas, director,AIIMS, Bhubaneswar,said the virulence of the virus that is causing infection right now should be studied and then appropriate guidelines for all sections issued.For the time being,the elderly and children should wear masks and those who are yet to take the booster dose should get one.Also, the required medicine stock and availability of other logistics should be reviewed.
" We don't know what shape the current infection graph will take but we need to take precautionary steps," he said.

Looking at the rising cases, doctors have said Remdesivir medicine should be stocked at important government health facilities to address the need to counter Covid pneumonia.
Pulmonologist Dr Sampat Dash said,"There is no scope for complacency,neither any need to panic.People should just watch out for their symptoms if they are getting worse.In case it is converting into Covid pneumonia(Omicron so far has not caused pneumonia),they should get a CT scan of lungs done under doctor's advice," he said.
Mass education minister Sameer Das said,"There has not been any discussion so far on the new guidelines for schools to follow in view of a mild spike in cases.But we are keeping a watch.Experts are saying there won't be any need to be alarmed over running of schools,"he said.
