Deputy registrar U C Pati said majority of the students are from rural areas and many of them don't have computer Knowledge.
"Though IT skill is an essential requirement, many students are not able to acquire the knowledge as private computer centers charge a lot.
The IT skill center at the university will be a boon for such students as they will be able to gain the skill and knowledge by paying a nominal fee,"Pati said.
The University is yet to finalize the fee to be changed from students,"We are planning to make IT training mandatory for all UG students. As many as 100 computers have been installed at the center," he added.
