Ordered an inquiry into the case of missing answer scripts.

    The education department ordered an inquiry into the case of missing answer scripts of the Plus II board exam, which was conducted by the council of Higher Secondary Education.

     As many as 12 scripts of the odia paper from Sreema Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Baripada went missing.The matter came to light ,when Government Science College – an evaluation center at Chhatrapur where the answer scripts were sent– alerted the school about the missing sheets.

      "Such type of an issue should not happen, especially when it comes to board exams where the future of thousands of students is at stake.I have ordered an inquiry so that accountability can be fixed," education minister Samir Ranjan Dash said while speaking to media persons here.The minister also said that the answer sheets were found.

       The odia exam was held on March 13 and on the same day, the answer scripts were sent to Government Science College for evaluation.On Monday,the college authorities wrote to center's superintendent,Natabara Giri,at Sreema Mahila Mahavidyalaya,stating that the answer sheets bearing roll numbers from 149KS 090 to 149KA102 were missing in the packet and urged him to take necessary steps.

      Giri said,"we did not know that the answer sheets were not there.After the examination we packed them and send them to the evaluation center concerned.We came to know about the missing scripts after we got the letter from the evaluation center and we immediately apprised the council of the matter." Sources in the council said that by mistake the answer sheets were sent to another evaluation center and that they have already been found.

      Reacting to the 'mistake,Pitambara Sahu,a parent,said," During the class 10 board exam students were missing and now in the Class 12 board exam,answer sheets are missing.How can we trust the government's system of education?"
