A grand event to mark Biju Jayanti on March 5.
To strengthen the party at the grassroots level, chief minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Pattnaik asked party cadres to work for BJD unity.
All party leaders will pledge Biju Jayanti on March 5 to work for party unity,remain disciplined and rededicate themselves to serve the people of Odisha.
In a massage, Naveen said the party workers will attend public meetings to be organized in all constituencies after 4pm on March 5 and take an oath to work with dedication to build a strong, prosperous and new Odisha on the occasion of Biju Jayanti .At these meetings,Biju Babu's associates and those dedicated their lives to work for society inspired by him will be felicitated.
To celebrate the birth anniversary of the legendary leader as Panchayati Raj Divas, Naveen also shared the sequence of events to be conducted.
At the outset,a prabhat pheri will be organized at 6am and floral tributes will be offered to Biju Patnaik at his statue.It will be followed by distribution of fruits at hospitals, orphanages, old-age homes and other shelters.After that,at least 200 party workers will take part in 5km cycle rallies at every constituency at 8.30 am by BJD and its students wing.
In addition to this, debates,essay writing, drawing and painting competitions will be organized in every constituency in Naveen Odisha (new Odisha) that is strong,empowered and prosperous from Mary 5 to 25.The winners will be awarded at a function on April 17.
Besides, the government has also planned for public display of Biju Patnaik's iconic aircraft Dakota at the Biju Patnaik International Airport from March 5.The unscheduled flight service from Bhubaneswar to Rangeilunda(near Gopalpur) will also begin from March 5, official sources said.
The chief minister also announced a state -level International Women's Day on March 8 while the celebration will continue from March 9 to 17 in each constituency of the state and discuss how to empower women socially, economically and politically.
