Narendra Modi, the man of inspiring personality, makes us wonder how he maintains his health so well.
He has a personal cook, Badri Meena, who travels with him even on his world tours, so, he makes sure that Modiji is at home even far away from home and he doesn’t have to compromise on his daily eating schedule in any foreign country even.
He likes simple homemade food including yellow dal and green vegetables and follows a sattvic lifestyle. The following five dishes are the most favorite of our Prime Minister.
1. White Khatta Dhokla
This nutritious, gluten free Gujarati snack is among the top favorites of Modi ji. It is similar to south indian snack idli, but more spongy. With the flavor of sourness, which comes from Yogurt or lemon, Dhokla is our PM’s favorite dish among the others. Flavors of green chili and ginger makes it a perfect snack, healthy yet tasty.
2. Khilli hui Khichdi
No matter how boring we find khichdi and classify it as a food item to be eaten only when we are ill, we cannot ignore its benefits. Khichdi is easy to digest, very nutritious and aids in digestion. Unlike the majority of the population of India, it seems as though our Prime Minister is very well aware of the nutritional benefits of khichdi and that is the reason he makes sure to add khichdi in his diet.
3. Besan Khandvi
Again a Gujarati snack item, that is both tasty and healthy. Combination of besan, buttermilk and seasoning with some spices make it a mouth watering dish. You can savor this snack and add very few calories, it is also low in fats. You can take inspiration from Modi's healthy choices to add this in your diet.
4. Undhiyo
It is a classic Gujarati dish that is cooked with a lot of vegetables in an aromatic blend of spices. It can be served as a main dish or a side dish.
5. Dessert - Almond Pistachio Shrikhand
A gujarati dessert recipe, it is served with a chilled counterpart to all the hot and spicy curries. Healthy nuts like almonds and pistachios are used for its garnishing.
He doesn’t snack on pizzas and burgers, instead he opts for healthy options like Khakra, Idli, etc.
