" I had met the Union education minister (Dharmendra Pradhan for opening a KV at Jeypore and he had assured me of it. But not nothing has been done in this regard so far. If the KV fails to function from the academic session of 2023-24, then mass agitation will be observed throughout the district in May first week. and the union minister will be held responsible for it," Bahinpati said.

Koraput currently has a KV at the district headquarters town and another inside the premises of the Naval Armament Depot(NAD) in Sunabeda. "With over 20 central offices and all the required infrastructural facilities available, Jeypore deserves a Kendra Vidyalaya but the Centre is deliberately neglecting our demand."
On July 18 last year, while replying to an unstarred question by Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka Pradhan had stated that the proposal for opening a KV at Jeypore has been received and it now has to compete with other such proposals under the 'Challenge Method.'
