Berhampur University (BU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Tourism for academic collaboration on the occasion of World Heritage Day on Tuesday. The MoU was signed between Sachidananda Nayak, registrar of Berhampur University, and Md Sabir Hussain, nodal officer of the IITTM, Bhubaneswar, in the presence of Geetanjali Das, vice-chancellor of BU and several other teachers and students.

According to the MoU, the two organizations have agreed to jointly carry out various academic activities for five years.
Activities like student and faculty exchange, curriculum development, collaborative research, promoting joint research, conducting workshops and seminars jointly and so on would be carried out, said the VC.

Not only the students of the Department of Tourism and Travel Studies but also some other related departments of the university will benefit under the MoU between the two institutes, she said.
Hussain also expressed happiness over the signing of the MoU with Berhampur University.
